Annie Jack’s has the feel of a proper Soi Buakhao local - compact, busy and usually with considerably more girls inside than the modest frontage suggests.

Step in from the traffic outside and the long bar becomes the centre of things, with plenty of seating, air-conditioning and TVs showing sport when there’s something worth watching. The atmosphere is social rather than showy: order a beer, get talking and let the staff provide most of the entertainment.

It’s been part of the Buakhao bar circuit for years, and that familiarity is a big part of the appeal. Annie Jack’s doesn’t need a stage, lasers or some elaborate theme to keep the place lively.

Sometimes all you need is a cold drink, a full bar and Annie Jack’s doing what it does best.
