Inferno sits about halfway along Soi Chaiyapoon, easy to spot by the big INFERNO sign glowing in bright neon colours out front. Grab one of the street-facing tables and you’ve got a perfect seat for watching the nightly parade of bar girls, motorbikes, expats and people who probably intended to go home two hours ago.

Inside, it’s smaller and more intimate than the street outside suggests, with a pool table and a friendly team of hostesses. One thing that does set Inferno apart is the surprisingly serious little kitchen out back - this is a bar that’ll happily follow your beer with a proper burger, pizza or even a Sunday roast.

Despite the name, Inferno is actually one of the easier places on the soi to cool things down for a while.
