Helicopter Bar is one of the more familiar names on Soi 6, sitting between Panda Bar and Lady in Love. It's an independently operated bar that has built up a following of its own, without the backing of one of the street's larger bar groups.

Inside, things follow the traditional Soi 6 formula: a good-sized team of girls, cold drinks and an open-front setting where the activity outside is never far away. It's a fairly straightforward place to spend an afternoon, whether you're stopping in for a quick beer or sitting down for some company.

Helicopter also has a noticeable presence on social media, attracting attention from visitors before they even arrive in Pattaya. In person, though, the appeal is much simpler, with the emphasis on the girls and the easygoing atmosphere rather than elaborate entertainment or flashy production.

It might be called Helicopter, but there's no need to be in a hurry to take off.
