In the middle of Pattaya, calling a bar Sober feels almost provocative.

Set on Soi Pothole, Sober Bar is a relaxed neighbourhood-style beer bar with a pool table, inexpensive drinks and a soundtrack that gets plenty of praise from regulars. The atmosphere is noticeably more laid-back than some of the louder venues nearby, with friendly staff and an easy-going owner helping give it the feel of a proper local rather than somewhere you simply pass through.

It’s particularly well suited to those nights when you want to escape some of Pattaya’s madness without actually leaving it - grab a beer, play a few games of pool and let the evening take its course. And despite what the bar's called, the beer is very much real.
